      埃丽诺·霍奇曼·波特（Eleanor Hodgeman Porter）美国著名童话作家，出生于新罕布什尔州的一个小镇，年轻时曾是当地有名的歌手；1901年波特放弃歌唱生涯正式开始写作，1913年创作出了一个家喻户晓的小说人物：波利安娜。波特后来还创作了《波利安娜》的续集，《波利安娜长大了》同样引起轰动。波特的其他作品还有《比利小姐》、《比利小姐的决定》、《潮转》等。
