He is mainly engaged in the research of hypoxic physiology and high altitude medicine, and has published more than 390 papers at home and abroad, including Science, Nature and other international top journals. He has written 3 books. He has undertaken 18 national and provincial scientific research projects such as 973 and National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has won the National Science and Technology Progress Special Prize and Second Prize. He won the Ho Heung Ho Lee Award, First Prize of Qinghai Province Science and Technology Progress, National Outstanding Professional and Technical Personnel, National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker Nomination, etc. He won the Basic Medicine Award of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World at 2016, and the National Innovation Award at 2017. In 2019, he became the chairman of the Qinghai Talent Association.
