   作者简介：

  R.V.cassill, writer, teacher of writing, and teacher of literature-is professor emeritus of English at Brown University. He has also taught at the lowa Writer's Workshop and at Purdue, Columbia, and Harvard universities. He has published seven collections of short stories and twenty-four novels, as well as a best-selling creative-writing text, writing fiction. He is also the editor, with Joyce Carol Oates, of The Norton Anthology of Contemporary Fiction.
