　　昆汀·布莱克(QuentinBlake)是当代英国儿童文学界*负盛名的插图画家和作家，2013年新年，80岁的他被授予爵士爵位。
　　他于1932年出生，16岁时出版了第一本画集，中学毕业以后，进入剑桥的唐宁学院学习英文专业。在服过兵役以后，先后进入了伦敦大学和切尔西艺术与设计学院进修硕士文凭课程。
　　早期他的插画工作多是为成人杂志、书籍，直到1960年才开始与文字作者合作，投入儿童图画书的插画工作。1968年昆汀有了第一部自写自画的作品《派克的小提琴》。1981年，他自写自画的作品《光脚丫先生》（MisterMagnolia）荣获英国图书馆协会所颁发的凯特·格林纳威奖。1999年对他而言更是实至名归的一年，成为英国第一位儿童文学桂冠作家（Children’sLaureate），2002年又获得国际儿童读物*高奖项：国际安徒生大奖，此外，他还获得过惠特布雷德奖、波隆那国际儿童书展*佳童书奖等。
