  One day the man withthe yellow hat had to go out. He told Curious George to stay in andplay with the ball. Of course, George found a reason to go out andhave a little adventure. He played with a baby bunny, almost got introuble when he lost him, but he came up scheme to get him back. Hesaw a fat man go fishing, tried it too and fell in the lake. Hehelped a boy get a kite out of a tree, then tried to fly the kitehimself. The wind came up and all of a sudden Curious George wascarried aloft, holding onto the kite string for dear life.Fortunately the yellow hat man came home, got a helicopter and wasable to save Curious George so that he could live happily everafter with his new baby bunny pet.
  故事8：《好奇猴乔治得奖章》CuriousGeorge Gets a Medal
  “黄帽子”先生不在家，乔治收到了一封奇怪的信，这让他想写字了，不过墨水溅得哪儿都是，只好用香皂清洗，这下子农场“发水了”。乔治为了抽水只好偷偷去拿水泵，一下子又放跑了猪圈里的猪并偷了一头牛，农夫们气得追拿乔治。乔治搭乘一辆卡车逃到了博物馆，不过他把恐龙展览给搞砸了，只有“黄帽子”先生赶来解围。原来，博物馆的馆长就是那个写信的人。这次他写信让乔治成为第一个上太空的猴子。乔治同意了，于是他的过错被原谅了，而且由于勇敢而得到了一枚奖章。
  In this story,George's troubles begin when the Man with the Yellow Hat leaves himat home, admonishing him not to get into trouble; George receives aletter which he cannot read; then he attempts to write a letter,spills the ink, fills the room with soap and water in an attempt toclean it up, then makes off for the country to swipe a pump toempty the room. He releases a herd of pigs and steals a cow to towthe pump away, then flees the farmers by stowing away on a pickuptruck headed for the museum. There he wrecks a dinosaur exhibit andis about to be carted off to the dreaded zoo when the Man with theYellow hat arrives to explain everything. It turns out the directorof the museum is the author of the letter that began George'stroubles, and the letter invites him to become the first monkey togo into space. George agrees, all is forgiven, and he receives amedal for his courageous participation in the spaceprogram.

【作者简介】

Hans Augusto Rey于1898年9月16日出生于德国汉堡，在世界知名的哈根贝克动物园附近长大。他非常喜欢动物和动物绘画。Margret也出生在汉堡，于1935年与Hans结婚，并移居巴黎。那时的欧洲动荡不安，两人都是犹太人，处于纳粹横行的危险中。他们意识到，必须赶在纳粹进驻之前逃走，于是在1940年6月14日骑脚踏车奔往西班牙，然后转乘火车前往巴西，最后去往纽约，展开全新生活，开始童书创作。在他们离开巴黎几小时后，纳粹占领了巴黎。作者的生活也像好奇猴乔治一样，贴近动物而且充满冒险。
