作者简介

特里·普拉切特（Terry Pratchett）(1948~2015)，英国知名幻想小说家。

普拉切特自一九八三年开始创作供成人阅读的“碟形世界” (TheDiscworld)系列，以讽刺、幽默的笔调塑造了一个神奇却又真实的幻想世界，截止2014年已经完成四十本，但故事还在继续……该系列已被翻译成三十多种文字，作者本人也因此获得“英国幻想小说奖”，并因其“为文学做出的贡献”于一九九八年在英国女王的生日庆典上被授予英帝国的“四等勋爵士”称号。

2015年3月12日因脑退化症逝世,享年66岁。

Terry Pratchett was the acclaimed creator of the global bestselling Discworld series, the first of which, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983. In all, he was the author of over fifty bestselling books which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. His novels have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and he was the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal. He was awarded a knighthood for services to literature in 2009, although he always wryly maintained that his greatest service to literature was to avoid writing any.
