Dr.SHIHChungkunisaVisitingProfessorsinceDecember2004intheCollegeofLifeSciencesoftheCNUonavolunteerbasis.Hisresearchinterestsincludemorphology，taxonomyandevolutionofnortheasternChinesefossilinsectsandtheirinteractionswithfossilplants.Sofarhehasco-authoredmorethan40papersoninsectfossilsandcoevolutionwithplants，includingarecentpaperinSdence.Dr.ShihreceivedaB.S.（1972）inChemicalEngineeringfromtheTaiwanUniversity，aM.S.（1975）andPh.D.（1978）inChemicalEngineeringfromtheUniversityofPennsylvania，aM.S.（1978）inOperationsResearchfromWhartonSchool，theUniversityofPennsylvaniaandaMBA（1982）inMarketingfromtheFairleighDickinsonUniversity.Herecentlyretiredafter3yearswithMerckand28yearswithInfineum，ajointventurebetweenExxonMobilChemicalandShellChemical.From1998to2009，hewasinvolvedinbusinessmanagementforInfineumChinaanditstwojointventuresinChina.HisbusinessworkforajointventurecompanyinJinzhou，Liaoningstartedhispassionandstudiesofinsectandplantfossils，whichledtohiscooperativeresearchwithProfRenandothercollaborators.HehasgivenpresentationsonfossiltreasuresfromthenortheasternChinainSingapore，ChinaandUSA.HeresidesinScotchPlains，NJwithhisfamily.
