【内容简介】

本书收集了美国建国以来至2005年的历任总统的就职演说，共43篇。其中5篇不是严格意义上的就职演说，因为这些演说不是总统在传统的就职典礼上发表的；然而，这些演说在某种意义上也是就职演说，因为这些演说也是新任总统上任时发表的施政纲要。这5位总统是因特殊原因而上任的，多数是由于前任总统被害或病故，其中一位是由于前任总统被迫辞职。 全书分为三部分：语言学视野下的赏析，文化学视野下的赏析，阅读学视野下的赏析。

【作者简介】

肖福寿，1964年生，福建武平人。南京大学英语语言学博士，上海大学外国语学院教授，美国爱荷华大学高级访问学者，美国哈佛大学高级访问学者。     　　多年来一直从事英语语言和应用语言学的教学与研究工作。已出版《英语写作教学的原则与策略》《语域特征与英文写作》
