马丁·阿尔布劳, 英国社会科学院院士，英国社会学会荣誉副会长，威尔士大学荣休教授，曾为英国、美国、德国和中国等国的多所大学的客座教授，率先提出了“全球时代”的概念。鉴于他长期以来在跨文化、全球化与全球治理等领域的突出贡献，他还被罗马教皇、联合国等有关组织聘为顾问。马丁•阿尔布劳的其他著作包括:《科层制》《马克斯•韦伯的社会理论建构》《组织有感情吗？》《社会学基础》《全球化时代的社会和文化变迁》等。
