  本书为当代语义理论指南，主要反映了90年代欧洲一批大学，尤其是英国Lancaster大学的专家学者在建设，开发和研究语料库等各个方面所取得的成果。同时，它也来自英国，挪威，德国，瑞典等国大学的27位撰稿人以及编者和出版商共同献给语料库语言学的开拓者之一。
