　　英国的国际化地位造就了英语的多元化，使英语拥有了多元的文化身份和广阔的跨文化的交际语境。尽管国际上对世界英语的研究方兴未艾，研究者普遍认为多元的语言文化认同会体现在各国的英语变体之中，但是，国内对世界英语的研究关注者较少，对中国英语变体的认识还非常模糊，多数人把它等同于中介语。

  本书是近年来这个研究领域比较系统全面分析这个题目的著作。本书从社会语言学的视角对中国英语变体的形成和发展，以及使用者对本族语和英语两种语言和文化的认同进行了系统的分析；此外，本书还创新性地提出了一个描写和阐释中国英语变化以及其他非本族语英语变体的“三维语境网络”框架。通过时间、空间和功能的三维透视，可以全景式地观察语言变体的产生和发展，描述变体的本土化特征。最后，本书通过对中国英语变体以及世界各国英语变体的探讨，归纳和总结了非本族语英语变体一般性规律之后，对世界英语研究的理论问题进行了重新审视，修正了卡曲儒的“三个同轴圆”模式，提出了动态的、发展中的世界各国英语变体是一个连续体的概念。

【作者简介】

潘章仙，女，1965年出生，浙江武义人，中共党员。英语语言文学博士、教授、硕士生导师。1985年7月毕业于浙江师范大学外语系英语语言文学专业，获文学学士学位。1998年9月获包兆龙，包玉刚中国留学生奖学金赴英国诺丁汉大学（The University of Nottingham）留学，师承Ronald
