【内容简介】

　　“博雅”学科英语系列教程属于大学英语高阶课程教材，供非英语专业学生使用。一般情况下，学生在完成三个学期的基础英语课程学习后，在第四学期开始该教程的学习。1.该教程属于通识英语类教材。
　　通识英语（ELE，即English for Liberal Education）以英语语言为载体，以人类文明、科学、文化发展为主题，有内容、有深度，以拓展学生的知识视野、提升学生的人文素养和批判性思维能力为目的。是一种特殊形式的“专门用途英语”。2.人文素养的提升和思维能力训练是教程编写的指导思路。“人文素养”决定了教程主题虽然与学科相关，但具体内容并非为深奥的专业知识，而是*近似于本学科的科普类教材。“思维能力训练”则要求练习设计摆脱传统语言教材模式，强调对课文内容的反思和知识的运用。3.英语语言能力的提升也是教程的重要教学目标。在该教程中，学科知识的学习和课后练习均通过英语语言实现。从英语教学的角度看，语言知识的输入采用基于内容的教学方法（content-basedinstruction，CBI），语言技能的提高则以输出任务为驱动（output-driven）。因此，英语语言能力在学习完成后必然得到很大程度的提升。
　　《文学 真与美的追寻》梳理并呈现文学的起源与定义、文学经典的特质、文学思潮的划分、文学大家的生平与贡献、文学研究的方法与变革、文学论文的写作等文学素质培养的重要方面，使学生全面了解文学学科的本质与特征，开启深入阅读和研究文学经典的兴趣，提升文学欣赏和研究的能力。

【作者简介】

邵珊，南京师范大学外国语学院副教授，博士，主要研究方向为美国文学与文明、英美文学、世界文学和英语教育等。2003年在美国华盛顿大学交流访学；2006年在中国社会科学院交流访学。已在《外国文学研究》、《外国文学动态》、《南京师大学报》及《四川外语学院学报》等核心刊物发表多篇学术文章，并主持了教育部人文社科研究项目《纽约公共知识分子威尔逊的文学批评研究》和校社科项目《美国文学主题教学探索》等。
