【知识点拨】
这段对白讲的是因Jane被枪击中受伤，Kim成为Marcus Newsom的首席律师后，几个人对话的情景。

How can…这个句型常用来表示“怎么能……？凭什么……？”痛失爱人的Newsom很是怨恨那帮害了Emily的人，用到的就是How can …这个句型。
go after 是个固定搭配，意思是“追逐，追求”，那么go after sb.就是“追求某人”，但在此处是与Newsome对立的人“追求”他之意，所以引申为“针对”之意。
为了让Newsom了解自己的立场，Kim说自己是站在他这边的。站在某人的立场上，或和某人是一边的表达就是on one’s side.也可以表达为side with sb.
面对劝说半天无效的Newsom，无奈的Kim只好说休息一下。表示“休息”，除了用take a rest，还可以用此处的take abreather可译为“缓口气”。
Here you go. 经常在口语中使用，表示“给你吧”的意思。

【地道表达】
1. I’m on your side. 我站在你这边。

向他人表明自己和他立场一样时，你就可以用上这句话。I’m on your side.字面意思也不难理解——我站在你这边。英语中，on one’sside还可以译为“支持……，和……站在同一立场上”。这是一句非常口语化的说法。同类表达还有I agree with you.或Isupport you.

当你要把一件东西或事情交给别人时，就可以用这句话了。Here you go.在此处指的是“给你”。Here yougo.还常用来指还在进行之中的某件事情。

Here you go.的几个不同含义：
1. 表示“好啦”。当你说明白了一件事情该如何做时，就可以用它做结束语。
A: How to use this microwave oven? 怎么用这个微波炉？
B: Just press this button. Here you go. 按这个键就可以了，好啦。

2. 表示“干的好”。当某个动作或行为处于过程中，还不知道结果时就可以用它来鼓励别人。
A: Wow, you are a green thumb on golf! 你真是个打高尔夫高手。
B: Thanks for praising. 谢谢夸奖。
A: Wow. Here you go! 哇。打的好！

3. 表示“给你”。当表示的意思是“东西在这里，给你”时就可以用它来表示提醒。这个时候，它与Here youare.的意思差不多(特别提示：有时Here you are.可以用Here it is.或Here theyare.代替)
A: Could you pass me that book? 能把那本书递给我吗？
B: Here you go. 给你。
