【作者简介】

　罗尔德·达尔，1916年出生于英国的威尔士，18岁初中毕业后，在壳牌石油公司获得了职位，并被派往非洲。第二次世界大战爆发后，达尔参加了英国皇家空军，受训成为一名战斗机飞行员。26岁时，达尔移居华盛顿并开始写作，此前的人生经历均被他写在了作品里。1960年，达尔和家人移居英国生活，并开始为孩子们写作。
　　达尔被看做是我们这个时代受欢迎的讲故事的人，尽管他于1990年永远离开了我们，但他的幻想作品仍然广为流传，仍然带给越来越多的小读者巨大的阅读惊喜。
　　《巨大的鳄鱼》绘者昆廷·布莱克1932年出生于英国，是英国当代儿童文学界＊负盛名的插画家和作家，几乎获得过英国国内儿童读物所有大奖，包括凯特·格林纳威奖。1999年，昆廷·布莱克成为一位获得“童话桂冠诗人”荣誉称号的作家，2002年，获得国际安徒生奖插图画家奖。
　　昆廷·布莱克，独创性和幽默感，及其轻松灵动的绘画风格和对图文的和谐处理，使他成为深受孩子们喜爱的插画家。
