Kim Edwards (born 1958) is an American author and educator. Her first novel, The Memory Keeper's Daughter (2006), is a New York Times Bestseller. She wrote the short story collection, The Secrets of a Fire King (1997), which was an alternate for the 1998 PEN/Hemingway Award, and has won both a Whiting Award and the Nelson Algren Award. A graduate of Colgate University and the Iowa Writers' Workshop, she currently teaches writing at the University of Kentucky.
