　　Richard Russell "Rick" Riordan, Jr. (born June 5, 1964) is theauthor of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. He alsowrote the Tres Navarre mystery series for adults and helped to editDemigods and Monsters, a collection of essays on the topic of hisPercy Jackson series. He helped develop the 10 books in The 39Clues series, published by Scholastic Corporation, and wrote thefirst book in the series, The Maze of Bones. He is currentlyworking on two new series: The Kane Chronicles, which focuses onEgyptian mythology; and Heroes of Olympus, which is the sequel tothe Percy Jackson series and focuses on Greek and Romanmythology.
