作者简介：
凡尔纳(1828～1905)是法国小说家。从小向往航海，曾离家当见水手。十九岁在巴黎学法律，后不愿当法官，为剧院创作剧本，后以创作科幻小说为主。自气球上的五星期获得成功之后，每年都要发表一两部新作，作品共达六十六部之多，称为在已知和未知的世界中奇异地漫游。其中有名的三部曲格兰特船长的儿女、海底两万里和神秘岛是其代表作，八十天环游地球是凡尔纳很受欢迎的作品之一。其他重要作晶还有地心游记、从地球到月球、环游月球、十五岁的船长、蓓根的五亿法郎、机器岛等。他在科学知识的基础上大胆地设想和预言未来，所作的许多科学幻想，在都得以实现。他也因此被称为“世界科幻小说之父”。
