内容提要 Therefore,ithis book,the maiargument is that the technology-enabled English virtuality creates aopportunity for all the Chinese learners or teachers of English to pursue a self-directed cross-cultural social learning and experiment with citizediplomacy. We have five assumptions not yet fully tested. First,a regular engagement with the English virtuality will largely reduce Chinglish and thus facilitate the acquisitioof the English language. Second,a fuller exploratioof the English virtuality will better familiarise us with their social practices,thus making better preparatiofor cross-cultural communicatioor citizediplomacy.Third,a regular communicatiowith the ESL/EFL professionals ithe English virtuality will benefit the development of English teachers. Fourth,citizediplomacy will ireturkeep learners or teachers of English engaged with the English virtuality. Fifth,responsible citizediplomacy will help better tell Chinese stories,resist the anti-China narratives or improve the international image of China,securing peace for the world.
