陶坚，男，1963年出生于浙江舟山。曾就读于杭州大学、国际关系学院、中国社会科学院研究生院，获经济学学士、法学硕士和经济学博士学位。1984年进入中国现代国际关系研究院从事世界经济和中国对外经济战略的研究工作，1999年起担任副院长、博士生导师。2011年出任国际关系学院校长。
