  Winnie-the-Pooh is the first volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh, written by A. A. Milne. The Pooh stories have been translated into many languages, including Alexander Lenard\'s Latin translation, Winnie ille Pu, which was first published in 1958, and, in 1960, became the only Latin book ever to have been featured on The New York Times Best Seller list.

 

  The book focuses on the adventures of a teddy bear called Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Piglet, a small toy pig; Eeyore, a toy donkey; Owl, a live owl; and Rabbit, a live rabbit. The characters of Kanga, a toy kangaroo, and her son Roo are introduced later in the book, in the chapter entitled "In Which Kanga and Baby Roo Come to the Forest and Piglet has a Bath". The bouncy toy-tiger character of Tigger is not introduced until the sequel, The House at Pooh Corner.

 

  In 1961, Walt Disney Productions adapted the Pooh stories into a series of features that would eventually become one of its most successful franchises.

 

【作者简介】

   艾伦·米恩（A.A. Milne，1882-1956）生于伦敦，大学读的是数学，参加过第一次世界大战，当过英国老牌幽默杂志《笨拙》的副主编。在为小朋友写书以前，他已经是一位大作家，写了许多长短篇小说、剧本、诗歌。不过让他闻名世界的，还是他的儿童文学作品。

 

  米恩的儿童文学作品，主要是四本书，两本是童话，主角都是小熊维尼：《小熊维尼》（1926）和《小熊维尼角的房子》（1928），两本是儿童诗：《当我们很小的时候》（1924）和《现在我六岁了》（1927）。
