About the Author
Anna Hrachovec launched Mochimochi Land, a website and brand of knitted toy patterns, in early 2007. To design her toys, Anna draws inspiration from Japanese kawaii (cute) culture and children's illustrators such as Dr.Seuss. Her original knitted creations have been featured on The Martha Stewart Shows, around the Web, and in print, as well as exhibited in galler in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Berlin and Tokyo. In addition to her website, Anna maintains a blog (mochimochilad.com/weblog) and a Flickr group (Mochimochi Land's Photostream). Anna has written three previous books of original knitted designs.
Anna Hrachovec is a designer and artist who loves to knit little creatures. Just about everything is more fun in tiny knitted form, so she’s inspired by everything! Under her designer brand, Mochimochi Land, Anna has created hundreds of knitting patterns for a global following of creature-crafting fans. When she’s not making cute stuff out of yarn, Anna is busy making stop-motion animations with her woolly friends. Her heart-knitting gnome is one of the most widely shared animated GIFs in the world. Anna lives in Chicago with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
