“老科学家学术成长资料采集工程丛书”是根据国务院批复,中国科协牵头,联合相关部门共同组织实施,集中展现在我国科技事业发展中做出突出贡献的老科学家的学术脉络和人生经历的人物传记丛书,有助于进一步梳理和丰富新中国科技发展的历史,厘清我国科技界学术传承脉络和学术传统,总结探索我国科技发展规律和科技人才成长规律,为更好地制定科技政策和人才政策、实施人才强国战略、加快建设创新型国家提供参考依据。本书为"采集工程丛书"中的一部。
胡思得为我国有名核物理学家,曾任中国工程物理研究院院长。1995年当选为中国工程院院士。他亲历了从第一颗原子弹理论设计到最后一次核试验的全程,领导了核武器科研集体在禁核试后的转型,是国内核军备控制科学技术领域的开拓者之一。本书紧密围绕胡思得院士个人成长与学术成长的主线展开,详尽描述并还原其人生历程,真实客观呈现和勾勒了一位在事业发展中成长起来的核武器科技专家“爱国奉献、艰苦奋斗、大力协同、求实创新”的科学家形象。

胡思得是我国有名的核武器和核军控专家、理论物理学家,为“两弹”突破和核武器发展作出了重要贡献。他是我国核武器事业从无到有、从小到大、从弱到强发展历程的见证者、亲历者和之一。
他长期从事核武器的理论研究和设计,第一颗原子弹理论突破时期,他创造性地建立了铀的状态方程,为原子弹设计提供了必需参数。1963年率理论部小组深入实验、生产基地,为我国第一颗原子弹的产品质量保证和试验成功提供了技术咨询。他先后参加了多个核武器型号的理论设计,历任二机部九院(现在的中国工程物理研究院)研究室副主任、副所长、副院长、院长。1995年当选为中国工程院院士。
本书客观、翔实地记录了胡思得从懵懂顽童逆袭成为国家脊梁科学家的人生以及科研历程。
