内容摘要
李伟平、彭启敏主编的《普通学术英语教程(听说与思考)》以培养大学生的学术口语表达能力为主要目标，并配以影音材料。这些材料为学生提供学术讲座、小组讨论等学术活动中的口语表达的思维架构和语言范本；同时也培养学生对问题的识别、分析、总结和判断能力，从而很终做到能“理性地思考，清晰地表达”。
考虑到在我国综合性大学本科一、二年级学生的英语学习背景，我们在编写和选取材料时尽量避免使用专业术语、口语以及冷僻的词汇和表达方式。学生在本课程结束时词汇量应达到3500至4000，其中主要是普通学术英语词汇(基本词汇750，扩展词汇2500)。《普通学术英语教程(听说与思考)》的另一个重要目的，是提高学生对问题的识别、分析和判断能力，以及口头表达能力，包括表达的正确性、流畅性、充分性、有效性和完整性。
