内容摘要
Yang Shenchu编著的《岳麓书院(英文版)(精)》讲述了，岳麓书院是古代传统书院建筑，属于中国历目前有名的四大书院之一。位于湖南省长沙市湘江西岸的岳麓山风景区岳麓山东面山下。1988年，岳麓书院建筑群被国务院批准为第三批全国重点文物保护单位。
北宋开宝九年（976年），潭州太守朱洞在僧人办学的基础上，由官府捐资兴建，正式创立岳麓书院。嗣后，历经宋、元、明、清各代，至清末光绪二十九年（1903年）改为湖南高等学堂。祥符八年（公元1015年），宋真宗召见山长周式，并赐书“岳麓书院”四字门额。1926年正式定名为湖南大学。历经千年，故世称“千年学府”，现为湖南大学下属学院。2016年8月，国家旅游局决定对严重不达标的湖南省长沙市橘子洲景区摘牌。
