《敦煌丝绸艺术全集》项目以敦煌出土的纺织品为主要研究对象，包括以织、染、刺绣三种基本技法制成的佛幡、经帙、残片等各种以纺织纤维为材质的文物（但不包括以绢为地的佛画），拟系统、全面、科学地整理和研究自藏经洞发现以来莫高窟出土的历代纺织品。致力于将优选收藏的敦煌出土丝织品的研究机构和博物馆藏品进行系统梳理、研究、出版，填补敦煌学研究的靠前空白。
