1. Read the following paragraph.
The word “career” is often used as a synonym for a job, occupation or profession. This definition refers to what a person does to earn a living. There are thousands of careers, ranging from those that require extensive education and training, to others for which you need hardly any preparation. Examples are an engineer, doctor, cashier, and hairstylist. Another meaning for “career” is much more complex. It concerns a person’s progression, through a series of jobs, over that individual’s lifetime. One’s education and unpaid work experiences, such as internships and volunteer opportunities, are included. When a career is defined in this context, everything related to one’s career development is covered, including career choice and advancement, and there are many different paths you can take.
2. Answer the following questions according to the information in the paragraph.

3) What does a career refer to according to the second definition?
3. Go over Table 1 which shows the top 10 most prestigious professions and best jobs in America
