刘震云，1958年5月生于河南省延津县，著名作家。1973年至1978年服兵役。1978年至1982年就读于北京大学中文系。1982年毕业到《农民日报》工作。1988年至1991年在北京师范大学、鲁迅文学院读研究生。现为中国作家协会全国委员会委员、北京市青联委员、一级作家。 2011年11月21日，“2011第六届中国作家富豪榜”重磅发布，刘震云以160万元的版税收入，荣登作家富豪榜第26位，引发广泛关注。
