Then it reviews critical physical attributes of pharmaceutical materials including particle size/surface area, hygroscopicity, mechanical properties, solubility, and physical and chemical stability, for small molecules and large molecules, such as proteins. Finally, it features applications of physical characterization in drug solid form selection, pharmaceutical analysis, product development, and manufacturing control using Quality by Design.
