The proposed chapters are as follows: CHAPTER 1: Introduction, CHAPTER 2: Asynchronous motors based drives, CHAPTER 3: Synchronous machines based drives, CHAPTER 4: Grid connected converters, CHAPTER 5: Elevators, CHAPTER 6: Ships, CHAPTER 7: Railway traction, CHAPTER 8: Electric vehicle, and CHAPTER 9: Industry applications. In each chapter the author will aim to: highlight the most important manufacturers involved with each application; provide a historical account of the technological evolution experienced by each application; differentiate the physics and mechanics of each application; and where possible will analyse a real life example of each application, providing the necessary models and simulation tools, control and model block diagrams, simulation based validations, etc.
