人们对初学芭蕾者的印象,通常是一个骨瘦如柴、眼睛里闪烁着成为芭蕾伶娜梦想的八九岁小女孩。然而,这本书是为那些比梦想女孩至少晚8年起步的学生而作。出于各种原因,这些学生,无论性别,都只能报名参加成人芭蕾入门班—可能是在学院或大学的体育或艺术表演系、社区、艺术中心、私人工作室或专业舞蹈学校。无论芭蕾课在哪里举行,都会涉及一些基本的活动和礼仪规范。

 

这本书介绍并解释了芭蕾课的基本规则—把杆上和练习室中间地面的芭蕾技巧、学生着装和行为、教室功能以及老师的角色。此外,本书还提供了有关护理和强化舞蹈演员的工具—自己的身体的建议以及芭蕾相关职业的信息。最后一章概述了芭蕾的历史,追溯了芭蕾技术的发展和一些重要艺术家在芭蕾传统中的贡献。

著者简介[美]桑德拉·诺尔·哈蒙德(SandraNollHammond):曾在纽约茱莉亚音乐学院、大都会歌剧院芭蕾舞团和芭蕾舞剧学院接受芭蕾舞训练,与芭蕾舞剧团、康涅狄格歌剧院、亚利桑那舞蹈剧院和太平洋芭蕾舞团合作演出。哈蒙德的教学生涯主要集中在高等教育中的芭蕾舞,在亚利桑那大学图森分校发展舞蹈专业方面发挥了重要作用,后在夏威夷大学的戏剧和舞蹈系担任舞蹈主任。
