托马斯·罗伯特·马尔萨斯（ThomasRobertMalthus，1766—1834），18世纪末19世纪初英国著名的经济学家、人口学家，1805年成为英国D一位（或许是世界上D一位）经济学教授。1798年他发表了久负盛名的《人口原理》，随后出版《当前粮食涨价原因的研究》《政治经济学原理》《价值的尺度》《政治经济学定义》等著作。
