Professor, former President of Beijing Foreign StudiesUniversity (2005-2010) and former Vice President of PekingUniversity (2001-2005). He graduated from Peking University in1982, and won an M.A. degree in History at the University ofHawai'i in 1995 and a Ph.D. degree in International Relations atPeking University in 1999.
