朱永新，中国民主促进会中央委员会副主席，第十二届全国政协副秘书长、常务委员会委员。中国教育学会副会长，叶圣陶研究会副会长兼秘书长，中国陶行知研究会副会长，苏州大学教授、博士生导师，北京大学、北京师范大学、同济大学等兼职教授。新教育实验发起人。 他曾多次主持联合国教科文组织委托研究项目、国家自然科学、社会科学等基金项目并多次获奖；在美国、英国、日本和国内发表教育论文400余篇；16卷本《朱永新教育作品》等专著版权输出至美国、韩国、日本等国家，是当代教育家的个人教育理论著作输往海外第一人。 他对教育理想的不懈追寻与执着行动，感动着千千万万人，屡屡被评选为“全民阅读代言人”、“为了公共利益”年度人物、中国教育60年60人、中国十大教育英才、中国改革十大新闻人物、中华十大财智人物。 他于2000年发起的新教育实验，以“过一种幸福完整的教育生活”为宗旨，吸引了全国各地2000余所学校加盟实验，践行着新教育理念与行动，深刻改变了200余万师生，正在积极影响着中国教育。
