　　Niall Ferguson is Herzog Professor of Financial History at theStern School of Business, New York University, and Senior ResearchFellow at Jesus College, Oxford University, where he is alsoVisiting Professor of History. He is the author of Paper and Iron,The Cash Nexus, The Pity of War, Virtual History, and theaward-winning The House of Rothschild. He writes regularly for theTimes Literary Supplement and the New York Times and is a prolificcommentator on contemporary politics. Next year, he will teach fulltime at Harvard University. He and his family divide their timebetween New York and Oxfordshire.
