Shaanxi Province is one of the important cradles of the Chinese civilization, as well as a sacred place for the revolutions in modern Chinese history.This book series provide readers with a brief introduction to the culture in Shaanxi Province: the human resources, urban  appealing and natural resources. This book falls into two parts: Part One introduces the unique geographical features of Shaanxi Province, with focus on the Qinling Mountain Range, which is said to be “the backbone of Chinese nationality”; Part Two describes the modern aspects of Shaanxi as a burgeoning province in northwest China.By reading the book, readers will be acquainted with Chinese culture, particularly the culture in Shaanxi Province. The book can serve as a textbook and reference book for nonnative speakers of the Chinese language, and can also help learners in terms of cultural acquisition.The book series are sponsored by the Shaanxi Publishing Fund. The authors would like to extend their gratitude to Prof. Kuo Yonghong (editorinchief  of Xidian University Press) and all the staff members, whose help contributes a lot to the publishing of the book. Thanks are also due to Liu Zhijing, Su Ming and Gao Yunwei for the wonderful pictures they shared in this book.November, 2017
