  Christopher Paolini was born on November 17, 1983 in Southern California. Aside from a few years in Anchorage, Alaska, he spent his entire life in Paradise Valley, Montana, where he still lives with his parents and younger sister, Angela. They have two pets, Otis, a black and white cat, and Annie, a frisky cocker/Australian shepherd mix.

  Christopher Paolini's abiding love of fantasy and science fiction inspired him to begin writing his debut novel,Eragaon,when he graduated from high school at fifteen after being homeschooled all his life.He became a New York Times bestselling author at nineteen.Christopher lives in Montana,where the dramatic landscape feeds his visions of Alagaesia.He is also the author of Eldest,the second book in the Inheritance trilogy.
