【作者简介】

LiXueqin,wasborninMarch1933inBeijingwherehestudiedphilosophyinTsinghuaUniversity.Hebeganhisacademiccareerin1952,whenhetookpartineditingCollationoftheOracle-BoneInscriptionsoftheYinRuinsundertheauspicesoftheInstituteofArchaeol-ogyoftheChineseAcademyofSciences.Since1954,hehasworkedintheInstituteofHistoryoftheacademy.HeisnowdirectoroftheInsti-tuteofHistory.Heisconcurrentlyprofessorofseveralinstitutionsofhigherlearning,includ-ingtheNorthwestChinaUniversityandNankaiUniversity；honoraryprofessorofanoverseasChineseuniversityinThailand；anddirector-generaloftheChinaSocietyofPre-QinHistory.Hismajorworksinclude:ASimpleGeographyoftheYinDynasty（1959）,TheWonderofChi-neseBronzes（1980）,EasternZhouandQinCivilizations（1985）,CompleteWorksofChi-neseFineArts:Bronzes（1985-86）,andAStudyoftheNewlyFoundBronzes（1990）.
