Description Jacques de Solleysel was a 17th Century French author known solely for his published works on horses.
In 1664, following his retirement of teaching horse exercises, he published “The Perfect Horse”, thought to be the best 17th Century book on the care for horses.
Published under the French title “Le Parfait Mareschal”, this book covers the symptoms of common horse diseases, prevention tactics, known medicines and how to breed horses.
Other important topics include how to travel with horses, appropriate diet, improve teeth health and necessary riding equipment – features 30 illustrations of horses, horseshoes, braces, bits and more!
