　　《种族、儿童、习性（英文版）》以移居在英国北爱尔兰的华人二代群体为主要研究对象，并根据他们父母的来源地，该群体被划分为两个子群体（SUb－group），分别是父母来自中国香港的华人子女和父母来自中国大陆的华人子女，年龄均在12－15岁。《种族、儿童、习性（英文版）》以质性研究的方法，对研究对象进行了长达两年多的跟踪观察和采访，对来自不同的社会环境、家庭状况、文化背景、移居在北爱尔兰的华人二代逐一做了详细的个案分析。《种族、儿童、习性（英文版）》着重强调，生活在同一西方文化氛围中的海外华人二代也会有不同的生活经历，文化心态和言行。同样是定居在海外的华人，由于他们当年移居海外前所处的文化和社会的环境不同、移居海外的动机和性质不同、在海外生存的方式不同、受教育的程度不同，从而导致了他们的社会地位的不同。*终，因家庭的移民经历不同，也导致了两个子群体的父母对子女的教育和期待的不同，进而两组孩子们在思维和行为上也有一定的差异。

【作者简介】

冯冰，博士、副教授。先后毕业于解放军外语学院英语系、北京外国语大学英语系、英国奥斯特大学社会科学院，获社会学博士学位。现在浙江大学外国语言文化与国际交流学院任副教授、硕士生导师。曾在国内外发表过译著、专著及学术论文多篇。2006-至今先后独立完成教育部、浙江省教育科学规划、浙江省教育厅、浙江省哲学社会科学规划课题以及国家社会科学基金等项目多项，同时也参与完成了两项教育部和国家社会科学基金项目。研究兴趣：文化社会学、教育社会学、移民学、社会阶层、社会群体的身份认同。
