【内容简介】

　　古代龟兹是丝绸之路新疆段*重要的枢纽，位于今新疆拜城、库车地域。龟兹石窟是我国现存*早的佛教石窟群，是和敦煌、云冈、龙门并称的四大石窟之一。但由于历史宗教变迁和西方探险队在20世纪初的劫掠，壁画惨遭割取，所有可移动文物都荡然无存。《俄藏龟兹艺术品》所收内容为1905年俄罗斯别列佐夫斯基考察队、1909年奥登堡考察队在新疆库车探险考察所获壁画、雕塑、工艺品等等，总计文物图版262件，现场临摹图100幅、照片27幅。是为仅次于德国的大宗收藏。撰稿人萨玛秀克的长篇序言，介绍了龟兹历史文化和文物搜集情况。对于丝绸之路和新疆的考古研究，是不可或缺的资料。
