【作者简介】

英国儿童文学作家。生于南威士兰达一个挪威移民之家。在壳牌石油公司任职期间曾到过非洲。第二次世界大战期间应征入伍，在皇家空军中晋升到中校。1942年出任英国驻美国使馆空军副武官。战争时期开始写作。1946年发表第一部以飞行生活为主要题材的短篇小说集《该轮到你了》。1
