the plates themselves display this double orientation ，at times looking as though they are multicolored perspectival representations of actual constructivist works for which one assumes there must have been plans and at times appearing as grotesques or indulgent fantasies based on similar themes ，such as arching ，dematerialized forms or floating compositions resembling miniature abstract paintings。

for all his evident debt to Malevich‘s suprematism ，chernikhov’s aims were altogether more exuberant ，worldly and seductive.

chernikhov always frankly sought what he called aristografia ，or “the art of creating the beautiful graphic image.”
