【内容简介】

　　《体力活动研究方法》（第六版）为人体运动科学、锻炼科学及物理治疗、康复、作业治疗等领域从事科学研究的学生呈现了研究过程的概览及目前常用的研究方法。加之其间不乏幽默的语言，使得这本书在国际范围内得到广泛认可。第六版还加强了以下方面内容：

　　● 在图书馆服务的利用方面进行了更新，包括有效利用电子资源进行检索方面进行了深入谈论；

　　● 在介绍统计学方法的部分，较少利用手工计算，而是以2008年赛季30名高尔夫运动员的数据分析为例，采用SPSS软件呈现基本统计程序和分析结果；

　　● 扩展和更新了一些章节内容，尤其是在目前取得较显著进展的质性研究部分，帮助研究者在选择研究方法、回答问题时不再仅仅以来传统的“科学”研究方法；

　　● 新增一章“混合方法研究”，即采用定性和定量研究相结合的模式解决科学问题；

【作者简介】

　　杰瑞·托马斯，北德克萨斯州大学的系主任和教授。于1963年获得富曼大学（Furman University）健康与运动科学专业学士学位；1964年获得阿拉巴马大学健康与人体运动专业硕士学位；并于1970年获得该校该专业教育研究方向的博士学位。现担任爱荷华州立大学教授。托马斯教授的科研兴趣涉及：儿童动作发展与学习，研究方法，动作熟练化的发展等。托马斯教授所发表的216篇文章和章节中，有91篇发表在基于数据的参考杂志上，它们包括：《心理学简报》《行为与脑科学》《实验儿童心理学杂志》《动作行为期刊》《运动与锻炼研究季刊》《运动与锻炼的医学与科学》《人体运动能力》《锻炼与运动心理学期刊》《老龄化实验研究》《实用生物机制期刊》等。

　　托马斯教授于2005年，被科研联合体授予卓越服务奖；于2003年，被北美运动与体力活动心理学协会授予卓越学者奖；于2003年，被北美运动与体力活动心理学协会授予高级学术演讲者称号；于1999年，被美国健康、体育、休闲与舞蹈联盟授予 C.H. McCloy 演讲者称号；1994-96年间，被Pew氏基金会，未来师资计划授予首席研究员称号，并获得170，000美金的资助；分别于1992和2002年，被昆士兰大学（澳大利亚）授予客座学者称号；分别于2002和2006年，被西澳大利亚大学（澳大利亚）授予卓越客座学者称号；于1990年，被美国健康、体育、休闲与舞蹈联盟授予荣誉奖；于1989-90年间，被该联合会授予联盟学者（Alliance Scholar）称号；于1984年，被美国人体运动和体育科学院选为院士称号。

　　托马斯教授于1992-1993年，担任美国人体运动和中小学体育科学院主席；于1990-91年，担任北美运动与体力活动心理学会主席；于1989-93年，担任《运动与锻炼研究季刊》编委会成员，并于1989-91年担任编委会主席；于1983-89年，担任《运动与锻炼研究季刊》主编；于1980-1981年，担任美国健康、体育、休闲与舞蹈联盟的科研联合体主席。
