Fundamentals of design and manufacture

This book is the reform textbook of the "Design and Manufacture" series courses at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It seeks to integrate design and manufacture and takes engineering design as its main preoccupation before integrating design methods, engineering representations, engineering mathematics, material/processing and engineering economics. It seeks to promote engineering design ability, visual thinking and representation ability, digital modeling ability, product processing ability and team cooperation and communication skills. This book is a Chinese-English bilingual textbook, which is not restricted to general class teaching, but can also be applied to bilingual or English teaching in the experimental class. This book is suitable for students who major in science and engineering, and it will be of particular interest to those who major in mechanical engineering. Majors in related fields and engineering designers will also find much of interest.
