地心游记是凡尔纳早期有名的科幻小说之一。小说讲述的是德国一位具有献身精神的科学家受到前人一封密码信的启发，偕同侄子和向导进行了一次穿越地心的探险旅行。小说文笔流畅，情节波澜起伏，妙趣横生，充满了幻想与传奇彩，把读者带进了一个时空的幻想世界。小说发表后曾风靡世界。
作者简介：
凡尔纳(1828～1905)是法国小说家。从小向往航海，曾离家当见水手。十九岁在巴黎学法律，后不愿当法官，为剧院创作剧本，后以创作科幻小说为主。自气球上的五星期获得成功之后，每年都要发表一两部新作，作品共达六十六部之多，称为在已知和未知的世界中奇异地漫游。其中有名的三部曲格兰特船长的儿女、海底两万里和神秘岛是其代表作，八十天环游地球是凡尔纳很受欢迎的作品之一。其他重要作晶还有地心游记、从地球到月球、环游月球、十五岁的船长、蓓根的五亿法郎、机器岛等。他在科学知识的基础上大胆地设想和预言未来，所作的许多科学幻想，在都得以实现。他也因此被称为“世界科幻小说之父”。
