美国社会旨在为中国的英语学者和美国爱好者提供一幅以美国理念和价值观为主线、以美国族特和行为方式为内容、以美国社会结构和地区特为衬托的“美国社会全景图。。众所周知，语言的背后是，的背后是良知，良知的背后是人。因此，无论是从现实主义或者实用主义，还是从道德良知或者人文精神的角度来说，知晓和领悟美国不仅有助于我们对英语的切实掌握和灵活运用，而且有助于我们人文素养的提升和思想情的修炼。
作者简介：
王恩铭，出生于1957年，教授，博士生导师，上国语大学美国研究中心负责人。1982年7月于原上国语学院英语系英语语言文学专业，后留校任教至今。1982至1983年在上外“美国学助教进修班”研修一年。1985年获美国富布赖特青年学者奖学金赴美国univerityofwimmdion攻读美国学硕士，于1987年回国。年作为富布赖特访问学者，再赴univerityofwiconinmadion，作为期一年的研究。1996年，获美国“人文会”资助，赴美国univerityofkanalaurence，参加为期两个月的“美国学暑期研讨班”。2000年，获美国斯塔尔会资助，在大学美国研究中心做了10个月的访问学者。2004年1月，受城市大学的邀请，做了一个月的“研究员”。2004年9月，获斯塔尔会奖学金，赴大学美国研究中心，作6个月的研究工作。在上国语大学期间，主要从事美国学领域的和研究工作，主要方向为美国史，美国与社会，现代美国妇女研究。近八年来，参加英语和译的课程。从1985年至今，发表美国学方面的30多篇，主要有美国历的政教关系、从政治边缘走向政治中心、美国的新自由主义、美国60年代的反正统运动和美国新左派运动。出版的论著包括：20世纪美国妇女研究、当代美国社会与、美国与社会和美国名校风采。参加的教材编写有翻译教程。此外，还有译著危机和美国人的生活和社会制度。2002年获上外“申银万国科研”；2002年被评为“上外青年教师”。参加的学术组织包括：中华美国学会，中国美国史研究会和上海美国研究学会。
