A Day.org is the world's largest collaborative structured photographic event ever undertaken. With breath taking photographs taken from every corner of the World and even from the space station this is a celebration of the joy and power of photography, it's a celebration of humanity and it's a record for years to come of this great event. Initiated by the Expressions of Humankind Foundation the project and the book are the result of two years of work and collaboration with some of the World's leading photographers and thinkers. Launching with the World's first Global Digital Exhibition in October 2012 this book is a record for one and all of this great day. 'A snapshop of images of ordinary and extraordinary people stories captured in one day.' --Metro
'As a snapshot of a day in the life of human existence, a new book of 1,000 photographs provides a remarkable vision of what different scenes around the world looked like on a single day - May 15, 2012. --The Times
'Alongside each photograph featured in A Day In The World are relevant details, including the name of the photographer, a description of what the picture is showing and its geographical location. The photography shows a great variety of situations and subject matter, as well as technical specifics - from small pictures snapped on mobile phones, to larger, more professional compositions - all with their own sincere poignancy and resonance. Celebrity participants in the project, run by a Swedish charity, include Virgin boss Richard Branson, former Irish President Mary Robinson and South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who said the photos would help people connect with one another and 'transcend the barriers of language, age, gender and culture'. --Mail Online
