About the Author
Roy Strong's widely acclaimed garden in Herefordshire, The Laskett, is renowned for the use of ornament. The author himself is a well-known historian and garden writer, and was formerly Director of the V&A Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. His books include A History of Britain, A Celebration of Gardening, Creating Small Gardens (Conran Octopus) Royal Gardens and Garden Party (Frances Lincoln).
