【内容简介】

本书是1994年中国和国有名学者合作的编研项目，其书是依据两国作者数十年野外实地察和室内研究的积累，并参阅相关文献资料（包括核型和分子系统学研究成果），经过综合研究编著而成。全书分为个两部分：引论包括中国两栖动物研究简况、中国的自然概况、两栖动物物种多样及其分布、两栖动物的生态类型、两栖动物术语和量度共5个章节；各论记述了各阶元拉丁学名、英文名、异名、形态特征、生物学资料，种群现状、地理分布及评述等。共记述中国已知的403种（亚种），分隶97属（亚属），22科（亚科），其中包括新属10个，新亚属2个，新种1种，新亚种2种；各阶元特征采用对应编码，有助系统学研究。还有中国两栖动物检索、主要参文献、成体、蝌蚪、卵群，染体及地理分布表、模式标本保存单位、拉丁名索引。
