内容摘要
本书围绕环境科学与环境工程领域涉及的相关内容进行编写。全书包括4部分，第一部分主要介绍环境科学专业基本情况和全球环境问题；第二部分为全书的主干部分，内容涉及环境化学和环境生物相关的知识点；第三部分同为全书的主干部分，内容涉及水污染、土壤污染、大气污染概况及其治理技术，固体废弃物及处理处置方法，物理性污染及治理技术；第四部分内容涵盖环境监测和管理、环境影响评价、可持续发展、环境经济学，以及当前广受关注的“碳达峰”和“碳中和”等内容。
全书根据主题分为13章（Chapter），每章根据内容分为3个单元（Unit），其中Unit1为编写人员根据专业知识和相关资料整理编写而成，Unit2和Unit3则是根据相关主题选取的阅读资料，共39个单元。同时，各章开篇设置了思政教育内容，并增加了课外拓展阅读资料，且对每章的Unit1进行录音供学生参考等。此外，各章节均总结了重点词汇表和重难点句子，并做了详细注解，以及设置了相关习题作为课后练习和巩固。
